Our team was at FITUR expo in Madrid this weekend promoting the Amazon Canoe Challenge at the Peru stand. FITUR expo is one of the largest in Europe with over 100,000 participants over 4 days.
Held at IFEMA Madrid, this year’s event had a strong focus on technology and sustainability in the industry, with a variety of speakers from all over the world.

The focus of the Peru stand focused on nature and adventure tourism and showcased a range of local operators mainly focused in the Andes region of Peru. Local delicacies including Peruvian chocolate and Pisco Sours were also on offer for a lucky few.

Race director Carlos Heine shared his thoughts on the event, ‘It’s a great place to meet other travel companies from all over the world and to spread the word about what we are trying to achieve through the challenge. It’s great how much focus there was on sustainability at this year’s event too, you can really see the change in mindset’.
