ABOUT US

ABOUT US

PURPOSE - PEOPLE - PLANET.

There is no place like the Amazon. A vast and largely unexplored area, that stretches across an area double the size of India. Filled with adventure, mystery and home to some of the most incredible cultures on planet earth, it is also under great threat – Deforestation, narcotrafficking, wildlife poaching are but some of the dangers that this invaluable area faces. Almost 20% of the rainforest has been lost in the last 50 years alone, and this alarming trend shows no sign of slowing down.

When dreaming of the Amazon Canoe Challenge, we wanted to create an experience that would not only be an unforgettable adventure, but one that creates actual positive change. Our desire to give something back is what drives us – To create real impact through community empowerment, partnerships with local organizations and training.

Through tourism, we aim to support local communities with an alternative source of income, reducing the need to rely on the illegal logging, petroleum and narcotrafficking industries that are causing the environment and people in these areas so much harm. We may be small, but we aim for big change.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

PURPOSE - PEOPLE - PLANET.

We work actively with the local communities in the areas we operate to ensure your expedition helps create positive impact within the areas we visit.

We locally source food, lodging, equipment and services as much as possible to maximise the benefits to the areas where we stay. With each expedition, part of your fee goes towards a donation directly to the individual communities we visit.

THE AMAZON

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

The Amazon is one of the most precious resources we have on planet earth. For us to protect it, we must also protect the people who call it their home.

Through travel, we are helping to provide an alternative source of income to areas prone to illegal logging and wildlife trafficking, as well as draw attention to the battle these communities face to protect their land.

From halting multimillion dollar hydroelectric projects that would have destroyed their rivers, to preventing oil extraction and illegal mining – You can learn more about how these incredible communities hold their own against industry giants on the next Amazon Canoe Challenge.
